Bachelor’s Course in Language Mediation Sciences
Intercultural Organizations in the Third Sector
This course prepares high-profile experts with specific vocational skills in the third sector.
Course Presentation
This course prepares students wishing to develop high-profile vocational skills in the third sector through an intercultural and interlingual approach in English, French and Spanish.
This course focuses on the analysis of mediation as an interacting event, emphasizing the students’ active participation and highlighting the importance of translation. In interpreting, the course fosters an analysis of the culture of mediation that characterises the social systems in which mediation occurs.
The multidisciplinary program integrates the development of psychological and sociological skills with the legal, organizational, managerial, and economic-statistical ones. The course is aimed at training professionals for public administrations, not-for-profit organizations, trade unions and trade associations dealing with the planning, provision and assessment of local welfare services.
The course combines solid theoretical, technical and methodological training with sector-based insights into issues related to local welfare governance, reform and management of the third sector in its ethnocentric and dialogical forms.
Objectives of the Course
The course aims to train professionals in language mediation in the third sector bydeveloping an ethno-psychological approach.
The course integrates the acquisition of language mediation techniques with knowledge of foreign languages as well as economic, legal and social skills in order to work in third sector organizations.
Students are provided with the necessary skills and academic knowledge that will allow them to continue their university career in a Master’s course.
